Edgar A. Anderson, P.E. President
Having been with Maritech since 2000, Edgar's work has led to an outstanding record of accomplishments. He was involved in Maritech’s initial acquisitions of oil and gas properties and has been instrumental in the company’s rapid growth and profitability.
Before his tenure at Maritech, Edgar was Vice President of Global Industries and Chief Executive of Global Production, LLC. Prior to that, he was Exploitation Engineering Advisor at Kerr-McGee Oil and Gas of Houston, Texas, where he received the LEAP award for his contributions. As a Senior Staff Engineer for Sonat Exploration Corporation of Houston, Texas, Edgar received the Chairman’s Award for innovative completion ideas and production improvement contributions. He also served as a Senior Engineer for Pennzoil of Houston, Texas for 10 years.
Edgar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. Currently, he is an Associate Member of the Houston Association of Professional Landmen. He is, also, a former Board Member and Secretary of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Gulf Coast Section.
Herb W. Cole Chief Financial Officer
Herb has over 23 years of financial management experience with companies involved in exploration and production operations. He has accounting experience in virtually all aspects of the business. Before joining Maritech in July 2008, Herb served as Vice-President and Controller of Cheniere Energy. Prior to that, he held management positions with El Paso Production Company and Coastal Oil and Gas Corporation.
Herb holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters degree in Accountancy from the University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Account.
Michael J. Simon Sr. Vice President – Operations and Production
For over 30 years, Mike has served in a variety of onshore and offshore positions in the oil and gas industry, primarily in the areas of engineering, operations management, and, more recently, at the executive level.
Before joining Maritech in 2008, Mike served as President of Grasso Production Management. Prior to Grasso, he held positions in onshore and offshore operations relative to drilling, production, and construction. Additionally, Mike’s positions with Houston Exploration Company, Sonat Exploration Company, and Gulf Oil Company involved exploration activities.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Texas and Louisiana.
Mark A. Gregory Vice President, Land
Before joining the Maritech team in August of 2006, Mark spent more than 20 years with TOTAL Exploration Production and predecessor companies. He has an extensive background as a land manager, advisor, and negotiator, both domestically and abroad. Mark has a proven track record for negotiating partner and joint venture agreements for onshore and off shore projects. His experience includes the management of large teams and projects as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Management from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Van. B. Goff Vice President, Reservoir Engineering
With more than 30 years of diverse upstream oil and gas experience, Van brings a wealth of engineering and management knowledge to Maritech. His expertise extends to most domestic basins, onshore, and offshore, along with international experience in the Middle and Far East.
Before joining the Maritech team in early 2003, Van was an international Asset Manager for Halliburton of Houston, Texas where he managed total revenues of $45 million annually. In addition, he was instrumental in improving profitability by reducing operating expenses. He, also, served as President of Nescor Energy of Austin, Texas and General Manager of Columbia Gas Development Corporation of Houston, Texas. Finally, Van held several management and engineering positions with companies such as ARAMCO of Saudi Arabia and Marathon Oil in Cody Wyoming as well as other oil and gas companies.
Van holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College.
William P. (Bill) Stone Vice President, Geology and Geophysics
Bill is a professional geoscientist with more than 30 years of experience in petroleum exploration and development in the Gulf of Mexico, Mid-Continent, and Atlantic.
In late 2002, Bill brought his expertise to the Maritech team. Prior to that, he was the Manager of Geosciences for TDC Energy of The Woodlands, Texas, where he directed all geotechnical activities, resulting in over $20 million in distributions to shareholders and $85 million in total cash returns. Bill also served as Vice President of Geosciences for Atwater Consultants of New Orleans, Louisiana and Senior Geologist and Project Coordinator for Chevron USA of New Orleans. Bill started his oil and gas career while in college as a roughneck, mud logger, and geological technician.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Tulsa and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Oklahoma State University.
He is the published author of “Origin and Evolution of the Drum Limestone (Pennsylvanian, Missourian), Montgomery Co., Kansas” in Limestones of the Mid-Continent, Tulsa Geological Society Special Publication No. 2, ed. Norman J. Hyne, 1984. He is also affiliated with several geological and exploration associations.
